Making Project Data Make Sense
The Challenge
Jira is built for the people living inside it, but the data it holds is hard to surface for executives who need a clear read on project health. Teams were spending time manually compiling status updates that still didn't give leadership what they needed: a way to see where things stood, how they'd shifted over time, and how projects compared to one another.
The Process
I designed the plug-in UI from the ground up, focusing on making dense issue data immediately scannable for someone without Jira expertise. Key features include timeline comparisons across reporting periods, percentage completion calculated across mixed teams and estimation approaches, scatterplots of due dates, and brand-customizable report themes — all saveable and shareable.
The Outcome
The plug-in is available today on the Atlassian Marketplace, built and supported by Bitovi. It closes the gap between the teams doing the work and the people accountable for it — without requiring anyone to become a Jira power user.
